Li Xuerou Fund, School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University

The fund was set up by the alumni of our school enrolled in 1985 when they returned to school in 2009 to attend the 20th anniversary of graduation. In order to thank the teachers for their contributions to the construction of the school and the cultivation of talents over the years, and in return for the cultivation and caring of the university and the school, the fund was specially named after their former teacher, Professor Li Xuerou. The fund was officially established in September 2009, with a total of 1.2 million yuan donated by alumni to reward the undergraduate students of the School of Business who are excellent both in character and scholarship with 10,000 yuan each person. From the second session, the reward has expanded to the entire university. Since the sixth session, the scholarship had been raised to 12,000 yuan per person, and then the ninth session 15,000 yuan per person. Since its establishment, the fund has received concern and support from alumni and people from all walks of life. Many alumni and community enthusiasts donated in their own name, and several alumni classes donated in the collective name, and some students gave back actively to the fund after winning rewards.
